Kevin Hodges

The Executive Board has chosen Kevin Hodges as one of our HTCIA GREATS because of his exemplary work on our chapter's web page. Kevin has contributed materially to the success of our chapter. Communications is vital to any organization. Our web page is the primary method of communicating with you about current events, training opportunities and other areas of importance to our forensic community.
The job of maintaining communications previously fell on the shoulders of Bill Norton, former OPOTA instructor in London, Ohio. Bill did a yeoman’s job for us, and we were fortunate to have all of his work and help over the years. Bill accepted a position with the State Department and is currently living and working in Washington, DC.
We needed help updating and maintaining our website. Kevin Hodges stepped forward to take on this important assignment. Kevin is a systems administrator at the Summit County Engineer’s Office. His duties are multi-faceted, as all of you systems administrators know all too well.
Kevin provides end-user support for around 85 users at the Engineer’s Office, and maintains a network of roughly 250 nodes throughout several locations. He assures compliance with Summit County policies and industry best-practices, and is instrumental in safeguarding the network from intrusions and exportation. He has also serves in an advisory capacity for a variety of technology-related systems – from fuel tank monitoring to physical access control and security.
Kevin is a graduate of Stark State College of Technology, near Canton, Ohio, and he is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies from Kent State University. I first met Kevin in one of the classes I was teaching at Stark State. He was a gift to an old instructor; bright, talented and always willing to help others. He has continued to display these traits and talents by volunteering to serve as our web master.
He has re-written and up-dated our website completely. I am sure you will all agree that the website looks great! It is a wonderful vehicle to deliver the latest news and events involving the Ohio Chapter of HTCIA.
Thanks for your help, Kevin.
We will continue to highlight our members and their contributions in future installments of HTCIA GREATS!
